Hello, this is Dr. Bekkum from All Seasons Full Body Chiropractic Center. Today we're going to talk about your soft tissues actually feeling like "hard tissues." What am I talking about here? A lot of people coming into the office lately are having problems with their forearms and hands. They've been out battling the winter weather such as driving in bad weather, shoveling snow and chipping ice from their driveways. They simply can't grip things like they normally can. They can't open jars, they can't function normally and they’re having numbness and tingling in their hands.

The good news is there are some inexpensive and effective home treatments that you can purchase through Amazon.
One of them is the Travel Stick. This one is really good for forearms and legs. With the Travel Stick, you can can work out some of the muscles yourself. Start soft and slowly working the areas that are tender. You can make those soft tissues, which are hard, back into soft tissues again.
This Travel Stick is great for people who struggle with carpal tunnel symptoms which is actually due to very tight muscles in their arms causing restrictions with the nerves and blood vessels. So, if your fingers are going numb and tingly, try the Travel Stick first.
You can also try some heat on your forearms which will help with blood flow. Applying heat before using the Travel Stick will break up some of those tissue as well.

Tight and Sore Leg Muscles
What if your leg muscles are sore and tight? If you're a runner, especially right now, if you're out running and it's icy out, you're probably going to feel kind of achy and sore if you're not using Yaktrax or another form of shoe grip so you get some kind of traction on icy running surfaces. Using the Travel Stick down your calf, shin and thigh muscles can break up some of the tight tissues.
